NIAR600k part of the ARWS
We have 30 unique team spots due to permits. Entry Fees is 3,000 Euro per Team (Inc. VAT 6%). Entries close April 23rd 2020 unless sold out sooner. Your registration is confirmed on the website upon registration. After you simply pay the 3,000 Euro 30 days after you receive your invoice. You will be sent an invoice through email. New for 2020.
When you register your for your NIAR race 2020 you can guarantee your Photo portfolio after the race. Teams can simply buy a team media package from the NIAR media house by ticking the box “media package”. The cost is 550€ per team. NIAR media house will give you a photographer that follow your team for the race. It includes a guaranteed photo portfolio that you and your team can use to promote your team f0r sponsors and SoM after the race with you own personal photos!
NIAR will host all racers from May 22-23rd including all meals at TBA in Stockholm. At the finish line NIAR will host all teams between May 28-29th 2020.

- Travel to and from the event Race center in Stockholm, Sweden.
CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS
Teams may officially cancel their entry at any stage prior to the event by writing, calling or emailing the race organisers.
Note: 1,000 Euro upon registration is not refundable at any stage. Team cancellations before February 1st is 50 % refundable. After April 23rd Nordic Islands Adventure Race organization will NOT refund any entry fees.
If the race is cancelled due to acts of god, natural disasters, terrorism or other reasons etc, the organisers will make every effort to refund as much of the entry fee as possible to all teams. The race will not be re-scheduled.
The 2020 race will set teams on a new adventure in Stockholm, Sweden, and the unique archipelago with 26,000 islands. The race will mix urban exploration with remote adventures in the archipelago and national parks. Teams will also be challenged with big rope skills sections and new navigational problems.
Staffan; -We choose to come back to Stockholm because there is still much to explore and show here. We believe that bringing the races into the city will help teams with their sponsorships and make the sport more accessible. Also, hosting an ARWS and ARES event together in the same race will be something new and fresh. Our goal is to create a fair, tough, unique and different race from what racers are used to. Of course we keep include hotels and meals for all teams in the entry fee.
Course Description NIAR600k 2020
COURSE – The Nordic Islands Adventure Race 600km course teams must Trek/Run, Bike, Kayak, Swimrun, Secret Stage, Coasterring, navigate and complete roping elements to reach the finish line. We will show the “Best of the Best” off what Stockholm and the archipelago has to offer.
Teams competing on NIAR600k will start together with team competing in NIAR City Challenge 24h. Everyone will start on Saturday (see schedule below) and race 24 hours. At 11:00 team competing in NIAR600k will get new maps and “restart” at approximately (13:00am).
Team entering NIAR600k can win two races in one. Meaning teams race for price money in both NIAR City Challenge 24h and NIAR600k.

The winning team will complete the course in 3,5-4 days and all other teams are permitted up to +6 days to complete the course. There will be cut off on the course and options for short courses to allow teams the maximum time to complete the full course of ? Legs. There will be one mandatory stop and no dark zones – a genuine Nordic adventure.
LOCK DOWN – May 23rd, 09:30-10:30 and May 24th, 11:00-13:00.
LIVE TRACKING – Teams will carry tracking devices throughout and are visible to spectators through the live race website.

COMPULSORY EQUIPMENT FOR ROPE SECTIONS
- Rappel device; ATC, ATC Guide or Reverso 3 el. 4
- 2 pieces of 120 cm polyester or dyneema sling
- 1 pieces of 60 cm poyester or dyneema sling
- 3 pieces of carabiners
- 2 ascenders (jummars)
- 1 foot sling
- Prusik: 135 cm long 6 mm rope when its not tied. Must be tied with double fisherman knot
- Harness; Must follow EN12 277 type C standard with identification tags, and with belay loop
- Helmet: CE standard Bike Helmet
- Leather Gloves
All equipment will be checked before the race. There will be no exception from this list, the permits demand this equipment and you will not be allowed to go through the rope sections without this gear. Teams are also responsible to know their rope skills. Teams must know how to rope climb 100 m free hanging, rappel, traverse and zip line.
LOGISTICS – The course outline and logistic diagram will be released one weeks before the race allowing teams to begin their equipment/food preparations and travel to the race with only the equipment they require.
RULE OF COMPETITION – The Nordic Islands Adventure Race uses the AR World Series Rules of Competition – Download https://arworldseries.com/resources/. It is adjudicated by an official AR World Series Referee.
SWIMRUN – There will be swimrun for NIAR600k. However, there will just be short sections of the course where you have to swim, a total of 1600 meters (approx. 10 swim section) in fairly could water.
PACKRAFT – NO PackRaftig for NIAR 2020.
TRANSITION BAGS – Teams need to provide their own TA bags and bike boxes. TBA x 130 liter bags without wheels and one kayak bag. (Bring you ARWS paddle bag if you have one). Max weight one each bag and bike box is 25 kg.
BIKE BOXES – Each athlete must provide a bike box made by hard plastic to be no larger than 140cm X 80cm X 30cm (standard ARWS size). If you don’t have a bike box, you can pre order one at firstname.lastname@example.org. Cost: 200 Euro.
PADDLE BAGS – Team need to provide one kayak bag, max size 50 x 50 x 150cm (standard ARWS size). Max weight 25 kg.
KAYAKS – Kayaks will be provided by the Race Organisation.
SMARTPHONE – For one stage you need four smart phone (one each), be able to download an app and have google maps available.

Nordic Islands Adventure Race will host all racers in NIAR600k from May 22nd-23th, including all meals in Stockholm at hotel TBA.
At the finish line Nordic Islands Adventure Race will host all finishers with accommodation, breakfast and ceremonial dinner with party between May 28-29th, 2020.
