I’ve been to some pretty spectacular places in the world but I’m always drawn back to Scandinavia. Completing NIAR in 2019 I can truly say it tops my list of adventure races worldwide.
Beginning in the mountains of Sweden and finishing in the fjords of Norway will be a journey i will never forget. The fjords were completely surreal and at times eerie. The mountains steep and snow covered. I laughed, cried, shivered and panicked but on reaching the finish line I realised it had made me a much better adventure racer. The route was nothing short of spectacular and the warm greeting at the transitions made the experience unforgettable. I can’t wait to return.
